My fitness-loving friend Gloria, from That SoCal Life, introduced me to ClassPass.

“ClassPass is an alternative to a gym membership. With ClassPass, you get access to the best boutique fitness classes in your city.

There are over 1,000 classes available to ClassPass members, including cycling, pilates, yoga, strength training, dance, martial arts, and more.

For $99 a month, ClassPass members get unlimited classes to use at studios in the ClassPass network. While a member can take as many classes per month as they’d like, they can visit the same studio up to 3 times per monthly membership cycle.”

ClassPass already exists in major cities like NYC, San Fran, etc., but its brand new in San Diego!

I’ve already taken a few saweeet classes!

  • Barre
  • Spin
  • Boxing

Most of the instructors have been super friendly and inviting to newbies, providing instruction before class begins. My favorite part about ClassPass is being able to try all of the pricey boutique-style classes that I’ve been putting off. Barre, for example, is a class I’ve been dying to try. I’m thinking of doing a mini-series with reviews of each studio that I go to. Is this something you’d like to see?

For now, pictured top-right is a glimpse of the boxing gym that I visited this morning for an intense (in the best way ever) legit boxing class.

I also snapped a few pics of the Spin class I took in Pacific Beach. I loved this class- awesome music, awesome instructor, awesome equipment. Most of the classes I’ve been to so far have also been really small, making for great one-on-one instruction and feedback. This was especially helpful with Barre class (at Studio Barre – Mission Hills) because I was struggling a bit with keeping my form.

I’m so excited to try more classes! I think I’ll be signing up for another barre class, as well as a pilates reformer class and maybe some hot yoga in the coming week. Let me know if you’d like to see more!
